DHEA

Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a natural aphrodisiac & prohormone (pre-cursor to testosterone), and is considered by some to be a natural steroid).

The aphrodisiac properties of DHEA stem from its ability to metabolise from Dehydroepiandrosterone into androstenedione and eventually into testosterone and estradiol.

It is the opinion of many bodybuilders that DHEA and other prohormones like androstenedione are just as bad for your hormonal system as actual steroids (and thus, have many of the same side-effects, including suppression of natural testosterone production), but lack many of the benefits. The difference is that DHEA is still legal in many places where anabolic steroids are not, and in places where both require a prescription, DHEA is much easier to obtain from an anti-aging clinic or endocronologist.
