Celery
recipes (part 1):
There are many specialists that consider celery to be a very important
agent in the growth of the sexual potency. Therefore, the arguments
for the celery consumption are as strong as possible.
The simplest recipes based on celery, with an important medicinal role,
are as follows:
- about 150 g celery root juice which is relatively easy to prepare
cutting the celery root in the shape of fries and passing it through
the fruit squeezer. This juice is drank while fresh, once a day, and
can be bettered with yoghurt or honey;
- decoction or even infusion from about 2 spoons of root mixed with
young branches and leaves. This is drunk like any other tea once a day.
It can be made bearable through mixing it with honey or hot chocolate;
- the celery wine is an interesting and an efficient drink not only
for potency or for th improvement of the appetite in general, but also
for the creation of a state of general wellness. This wine is based
on the normal wine, preferably white, in which a celery root is added
very finely cut. It is left to macerate for 3 days. To make as good
to drink as possible 5 – 6 spoons of honey are added. It is indicated
that 100 – 150 g of wine should be drank per day.
Especially pleasant are the culinary preparations based on celery, which
can be consumed anytime without having special need for them, or medicinal
need, but simply for the fact that they are very good and very healthy.
We will present you with a few of these marvelous recipes:
1. Celery salad
Celery salad is quite a common dish. This nourishing salad is very simple
to prepare. We start with washing the rhizome (root), after which we
peel it with a knife like we peel the potatoes. In this manner the celery
is finely grinded. After we finish doing so we mix it with mayonnaise.
Pepper can be added, but also minced or crushed garlic cloves, sour
cream or lemon juice. It’s decorated with black olives, salad
leaves or parsley. Some even say that we can give up the mayonnaise
and combine the grinded celery with sour cream, spices and a finely
cut onion. It’s decorated with lettuce leaves or parsley. Attention,
the grinded celery will be mixed immediately with the mayonnaise or
the sour cream because otherwise it will oxidize rapidly. There is even
a simpler variant of the celery salad with mayonnaise. We need more
small celeries, we peel them and then hydrate them powerfully by putting
them in water for about an hour. After they had enough water, they are
cut finely and rubbed with a bit of salt. They are left for about a
quarter of an hour for the salt to protrude them. They are mixed then
with mayonnaise and mustard, salt and pepper according to taste. It
is a salad with refreshing qualities and strengthening.
2. Celery salad with apples
This recipe is similar to the one above but the ingredients are more
numerous. Ingredients: a big celery, 2 apples, a medium carrot,
mayonnaise made from two yolks, about 125 g oil, mustard, lemon juice
and salt according to taste. Cooking: The peeled apples and the peeled celery
are medium or finely grinded as well as the peeled carrots. Over the
mixture of celery, apples and carrots mayonnaise is poured and then
it is well mixed. The mustard, pepper, salt and other spices are added
according to taste. The same stands for the lemon juice. Instead of
mayonnaise we can add sour cream, yogurt, cucumber sauce or even garlic.
Prepared like this the salad is left for half an hour –an hour
to rest in the refrigerator, after which it can be consumed.
3. Celery salad with bell peppers
This is a salad that is prepared rapidly (maximum a quarter of an hour)
and creates food craving, even though it is consistent. Ingredients: 3 medium celeries, a nice big bell pepper, a mild pepper, 50
– 60 g sour creams, and the juice from a medium lemon, spice,
and salt. Cooking: The mild pepper is cut into cubes together with half a bell
pepper. Peeled, the celery is finely grinded and mixed with the pepper
and bell pepper mixture. Sour cream is added, the lemon juice and the
spice (first the pepper). It is mixed well and then decorated with thin
slices from the other uncut half of the bell pepper. It’s recommended
that this salad is put into the freezer for an hour.
4. Boiled celery
This food is rich in celery and it is often met in Great Britain. It
is not hard to prepare and moreover it is consistent. Ingredients: 6 big
celeries, an onion cut into cubes, a carrot of small dimensions –
which we will also cut into small cubes, 30 g butter, and 300 ml thick
meat soup, salt, pepper, green vegetables. Cooking: The celery is peeled and
washed. It will be kept in a pan with water and salt. The 30 grams of
butter are put into a wide pan, in which the onion and the carrot are
cooked. After the cooking is over, the celery is added, the meat soup,
the spices and the green vegetables. It covered and boiled for about
an hour, an hour and a half. From time to time the mixture is mixed.
This food can be served hot or cold.
